As Time Went By

Years ago
There was so much tension in the wires
Those green wires that held together my heart
They were so close to snapping
And they almost did

Years ago
I thought there might be hope
That I might be able to change things
You know, they may have happened
If everyone stayed put

Not so long ago
I tried to let my green wires change color
So they could search for someone new
So I wished for that every day
and thought it might happen

Not so long ago
My wires changed, but only halfway
They wouldn't let go to what I knew
What made me feel safe
And I wish they had

Now
Yeah my wires changed
Deal with it fool
Yea I am back, stronger then ever
At least thats what I thought

Now
I know what they mean
How you can never let go
But the color doesn't go away once the wires snap
They just hurt

In the future
I hope that I will learn
And fondly remember when my wires were green
Possibly blue will be there too, to represent what you will never know
Even if it was aqua then

In the future
I will look back at this
Know were both happy
And remember one thing
Memories Happened and they Will Never Change

No Matter How Much You Want to Change Them
